Me. Er, my fairytale.
(You know—what I made up as I fought against life’s natural flow with great angst…) My name is Melanie Anne. I have a story, probably not to dissimilar from yours—the usual bumps and bruises, icky times, stuff I want to forget. I also have the same hidden ‘angry’ gene that rears its beautifully fierce head every so often – until I gently and lovingly herd it back in the cage! All too often I feel all too small, and then I summon my feminine super-hero powers and rise up for another push in the daily grind of living life large.
Not including my babies and being in a tall forest, I have two major passions. The first is CONNECTING WOMEN to each other, to empowering experiences and to information in order to create a global community of joyfully, happy feminine spirits… blady-bla. The second is PLAYING FULL-OUT in the game of life! Combine both and BHAM! I find myself unable to concentrate fully on those important things in life like dishes and the ole j-o-b.
Soooo… I guess that left turning my whole life upside-down, pursuing my passion and learning to accept support in all the degrading ways that weren’t left after childbirth. And what happened? THRIVE.
The journey condensed: become uber depressed, unsatisfied and unable to lie to oneself any longer. Have major meltdown, quit everything—full stop—career, marriage, house in the ‘burbs. Hide under covers and cry for awhile, pick myself up, dust off and dive into creating the life of my dreams. Sound familiar? Sound easy?
In the process I birthed another kind of baby (just as painful, but on a soul level). Voila! BetterWorldForWomen.com becomes.
The fun part: you can check in with me — to see how it’s going in each moment — you know, whether I’m flat on my face or jumping for joy? Friend me on FB or see what a twit I am with twitter… Either way, I’m letting it all hang out.

In a previous life: Mel has over 17 years in graphic design and marketing experience, 9 young years as a competitive gymnast, has successfully climbed multiple tall mountains (not in a single bound) and is known to throw herself into excruciating ultra trail marathons just to see what she is capable of. As an art student at a renowned school in Vancouver for over half her life, a secret part of her longs to quit everything to paint, play with her kids and travel. Well, all that and write an edgy book of course—who doesn’t want to do that?
