The real goods:
The Peaceful Woman—Maui Passage
A Maui Passage is a one-time (or yearly) trip a women takes to check-in with herself and look at how her life supports her. It offers us the opportunity to tell our truths, strengthen our sense of self, and align ourselves with the experiences we want to create in our lives.
Why am I involved… ? Cher Betrand, the CEO of TPW, has a lifetime of incredible experiences to share… I was lucky enough to interview Cher for A JOY EXPERIMENT! (because she certainly IS joyful on MAUI!) and we immediately made a deep connection. When she invited me to become a facilitator, I nearly keeled over with excitement. In fact I had been dreaming of a way to manifest some added sunshine, surf, feminine friendship and joyful flow in my life—especially during long Vancouver winters! And because connecting with amazing women, creating deep friendships and having peak life experiences is my MO – this was like heaven falling in my lap.
Hear how CHER Bertrand is learning how to Play
These are the words of Rachel Flower, Lead facilitator – speaking of her own experiences “…Nature’s classroom delivered a rich lesson in letting go that day. Actually Maui’s teachings came every day. The moods of the sea reflected my own moods, the quiet strength of the bamboo reminded me to remain strong in my truth, the easy glide of the turtles reminded me to chill, be cool. Stop fretting about things. When I was still enough the gifts were all around, in nature and in the beautiful group of women I was with. The heart space of deep sharing circles, the loving support, the goofy laughter, the tears of compassion.”
Well, if that didn’t make my little heart sing…!? So after some serious intention setting accompanied by a bit ‘o magical manifestation, off to Maui I went… (Click here to hear my radio interview describing Day 2 of my own Maui Passage!)

As women, we must overflow our own internal cups before we can quench the thirst of others. The Peaceful Woman retreat is, hands down, the best place I’ve found for doing just that. For me this passage continues to be about giving to myself so that I may passionately give to my family, friends and community year round.
You will know if this opportunity is the perfect next step for YOU. So… if you are in transition, have a special day to celebrate, or simply know The Maui Passage is the right space to celebrate and inspire yourself, then I look forward to seeing you on the beautiful isle of Maui. “According to a recent study, post-recession consumers want less luxury and more community. And outfitters are responding with trips that offer rich helpings of personal connection: You might sit around the campfire with Maasai warriors on your trek through the Serengeti or talk Taleggio with the cheese maker on a culinary tour of northern Italy. Deepening and enriching those experiences is the tour guide. Where once they held umbrellas aloft to keep their groups together and spouted historical facts like and encyclopedia, the best guides today are part friend, therapist, motivator, and concierge. And they still know their facts. Clearly, people – locals, guides and fellow travelers – are key factors in the best trips. “There’s a yearning for genuine human interaction, ” says Shannon Stowell, president of the Adventure Travel Trade Association…”
